During the pandemic, American citizens like me watched the George Floyd protests, often from afar, on social media. I did attend one (very scary) protest in Kansas City, where I watched police helicopters ominously circling the crowd. I appropriated footage from a GF night protest in Portland via the internet. Stuck again at home, the ceiling fan in my room started to suggest the helicopter blades; the sound and circular motion too were reflected in the water sprinkler on the Wichita State University campus, and my dog- walking (multiple times a day during Covid) also forms a circle. The video suggests being caught in a feedback loop of trauma and anxiety.
